The grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi is a simply fantastic place. A wonder of Zilartian technology. A brightly lit well built paradise, the obvious opposite of the Shrine of Ru'Avitau. But deep inside is the tragic story of the Quasilumin. These residents of Al'Taieu seem mindlessly persecuted by the local Lumorians, and somewhat shunned by the Luminians.

I had to spend the night with a bunch of sympathetic like-minded individuals aiding these poor defenceless creatures through the Palace, and clearing a path through the merciless technological Lumorians that lie within.

Our treck began with much enthusiasm, the slow climb through the Palace was somewhat enjoyable with our high calibre stealth skills. Alas, such skills cannot be present eternally, or apparently at all. And we ended up defeating every Zdei that stood in our path.

Obviously this wily Taru was able to slip passed unseen, only to discover the cumbersome Elvaans charging passed in a flurry with a Zdei following closely behind.

Needless to say, the night was tiresome. And nearer the end of our endevour we became weary, and settled on a far lazier strategy. We charged onwards through the Luminians! And before they could respond - they were forced to take brief naps by our many Black Mages, and we continued onwards while they caught some Z's.

This strategy worked wonders, and before we knew it we had aided the Quasi's in there goal. At this moment in time I stopped paying attention, my job as Palace Tour Guide was over, and my colleagues were eager to discover the secrets behind the sealed door.

Fortunately the Grah Gaurdian went down like a tonne of bricks, and the adventure unlocked before them. As I stood eagely awaiting my Warp and my freedom.

We decided that the threat towards the world was far too great, and must be stopped immediately! However we were tired, so decided the world can take care of itself, until Thursday at least. But our world-saving endevours need a Paladin who is worth his stuff. A Paladin that outshines everyone else. A Paladin with the cuteness to bluff his way passed the dreaded Zdei's with a single /panic motion!

A Paladin that spent the night cleansing Ru'Aun gardens of its many Arcana and pestilent birds in a quest to become stronger for the conflict that lies ahead!

The world has asked me to save it, some little girl with Magicite lodged in her chest asked me also, but I was more concerned about the Magicite and interested about her anti-aging cream, this girl is older than you'd ever think...

Promathia awaits and my Joyeuse can taste victory already.

So my static is all formed, and everyone is geared up and ready for action. Kirsteena however is due to go out of town, to fraternise with distasteful people - such as myself. And so this week, there shall be no exp!

Once we overcame this tremendous hurdle, we acknowledged the fact that we had many things to accomplish anyway. Tilion has more spells to learn in the next ten levels, than I have Roll's on my Corsair. So its particularly time consuming. Today was mostly dedicated to Halvung, and the treasures that lie within.

Kirsteena and Tilion managed to happily Duo a few trolls before I arrived, and secured Diamondhide, saving me a little effort at least. As we all know, a BST's work is never done.

Roughly 30 red trolls later we were gifted with Enervation, and left with a grim sense of satisfaction having destroyed an Archaic Mirror and masterfully assasinated a few Mirror Guards.

We were then left with the dilemma of which spell to target next, as there are many on the list. And out of complete convenience, targetted the Marid's, as we were passing them anyway.

The first Marid was assaulted by a cluster of many different animals, Colibri and Leeches were all charmed by my limitless charisma and rushed to do my bidding. The first Marid fought wildly, shaking many infuriating Chigoe from its hide. But eventually the fight died, and the huge beast collapsed exhausted to the ground - but, no Voracious Truck for Tilion.

We changed our approach, this was taking too long. So we engaged, striking into the hideous beast with vigour, while my hapless leech waited patiently for the next Chigoe on the menu. It worked nicely. 2 Marid's later, we had Voracious Trunk, and a boost of pride in our dual-tanking capabilities.

We decided to head to Arrapego next, which wasn't the best experience. Many Qutrub later, and we hadn't even seen Spinal Cleave once. I did however meet a Lamie Corsair, who attacked with a vengeance. Once again I was forced to use my endless stream of Charisma to throw wave after wave of Leeches at the confused Lamie. She fought back fiercely but was eventually overcome by the wave of leeches thrown at her again and again whilst each strike she aimed at me was swallowed by a fading shadow. In a last ditch effort to be completely spiteful, she dropped nothing.

I was disappointed, but immediately turned my attention back to Tilion, and his eagerness to learn Spinal Cleave. However, overcharged with excitement, I let lose a Rampage at a bad time, and shortly after a blinding thundery explosion, I was lying face-down on the ground.

Even more infuriating was the sudden appearance of Lamia No. 19, who stood smugly over my unconcious body, before wandering away to do her own thing.

And thus the day was ended!

Struck with the 'genius' idea of breaking away from conventional exp area's, I decided to lead my static into Al'Taieu. Seemed like an excellent idea at the time. Farm organs in an EXP PT with mobs that regularly take massive damage when they open up? Certainly sounds good on paper.

Cons I forgot entirely at the time (possibly due to girly excitement).

Temporal Shift - AOE Stun, enough said.
Sinuate Rush - Moderate AOE damage, absorbed by shadows.

Incidentally, the 'Moderate AOE damage' becomes High AOE damage when the monster opens its mouth. It loses major defense, but its attack becomes phenomenal.

I secured 60 tonight in Sea however, as did Kirsteena. I believe Tilion got 61, so it wasn't a complete loss, and we managed to grab a few Gorget/Obi Organs, which never hurt! Nekki casualties were estimated at around 4...

But moving on - I have RNG to take to 37, as its currently sitting at 30. So... yeah. I'm loving Barrage too much to lose it now, so will cover RNG over the weekend, which then partially relieves my storage issues. Did I mention? Taru COR's using Barrage is adorable.

Events over the weekend, including Kirin, so that should be fun, daytime plans are to level RNG, and perhaps PUP, as it seems to be a lot more fun than I expected.

I have found heaven, and its great. A static with friends is an easy answer to leveling. Especially from 50-75. That level range is a bitch...

Fortunately, I have a commited and friendly static to eagerly await. We went from 56 > 58 tonight. I literally had no buffer for 56, and it only took us a few hours. Excellent fun! And access to my Corsair Frac!

Wizards roll is a very nice addition to my output. Quick Draw damage rose from 144 to 185 with an 11. I need to grab a Moldavite and some HQ staves I think..

Slugshot damage continues to amaze, 625 was the highest tonight, I love fighting birds! Aiming for 60 on Thursday, along with Barrage and my AF hat, I'll be a very happy Taru.

Started in Woodlands, EXP died when our tank hit 59, so we changed to Caedarva Mire, and chained Marsh Murre's, They were just as weak as Colibri.

So, plans for the next few days: Cor 60, Grab an assortment of spells for Tilion, get a Ulli for Byakko.

Wish me luck!

Ciao~

Its such a refreshing change to fight some soft and easy monsters from 54 onwards. I swear, Robber crabs are entirely overrated. I hit 55, and unlocked a lot of Ranged Accuracy with Akinji equipment. And thanks to Gun Belt, got Slug Shot one level early. And it went down a treat.

It feels great to have a worthwhile weaponskill at last! I was tired of spamming Cyclone after gaining TP...

I've now picked up Kirsteena and Tilion as a static party, and hit 56 earlier today. Which means Marius can now join us on his SMN. So thats a good line-up and a majority party for whenever we static.

Tilion self-Gravitationed all night, Kirst MB'd Stone III. It was great fun, and with a PLD, we got good exp, averaging at around 5-6k/hour.

Managed to hit 56, which allows me to equip my first decent piece of AF, the Corsair Bottes, STR+2, AGI+2 and Ranged Accuracy +2.

Also had a brief experimentation with Gallant Roll, and was greatly disappointed. Initially, when the Colibri criticaled the tank, I saw spike damage for up to 25, and was rather pleased. But on average the spikes did around 0-5 damage, and in my opinion, thats a complete waste of a roll.

57-58 tomorrow would be nice, my Corsair Frac is crying out to me.

Until then - Ciao~
2nd-Aug-2006 12:29 am - Besieged!
Corsair, BST avatar, Mnk avatar
Following a 3 hour maintenance tonight, we discovered that every enemy force in the Besieged Map is marching towards Aht Urghan, and so a few friends from Konoha assemble to meet with this crowd. 3 hours of grueling battle with the multiple beastman forces, and we managed to save the Candescance. And it was close!

The Lamia were the first to invade, and they attacked us in true style, 3 NM's, including Medusa. Lamia no.9 was particularly vicious - followed by 3 elementals and prone to Astral Flow at a whim.. They managed to completely decimate the Generals in their attack, before the population drove them back. One general remained.

Immediately after the retreat, the Mamool swiftly attacked with a vengeance. We regained one general, but he didn't last long. And after an intense battle, they too decided to retreat. And before moving on, having faced Strifelord Bakool Ja, It will be a while before I utter another "loldrg".

And finally the trolls attacked, and our 1 remaining general didn't stand a chance. With massive bombs, scorpions and huge trolls attacking, he went down fast. We got a visit from the altogether terrifyingly large Troll leader also.

The panicing public retreated to shield the Candescance from capture. Despite heavy strategic misunderstanding, the Trolls finally decided to cut their losses, and run away also.

All in all 2100 exp for a great and amazing fun night, Al Zahbi, and our increased EXP, are safe for another day. Shame the town is completely devoid of all NPC's.

Fun BC, though I had many problems with it!

We lost first time, freak damage from Vorpal Blade. Then we tried again, and with a little help from my friends, it was a complete breeze.

Thanks Kyata, Tilion, Mar, Talie ^_^

Just gotta grab hands and feet, and I have the full AF set.

Cleared Temenos West tonight, was pretty cool actually. Very easy though o_o and a good deal of fun.

Got 2 BRD, 1 WAR and 1 RDM. We didn't have a BRD with us, so aye... pointless, lol.

So yay, 64 coins overall now!

Was seeking party all day on COR, no invites... subbed BST and solo'd to 44, heh.

Gogo 60 and full AF!

Also am now the proud owner of Bahamut's first Dst. Hexagun +1, hehe.

So, the new merits are lookin' pretty decent. THF and WAR really got a huge boost to their potential damage output. However, as this doesn't affect me DIRECTLY, I don't need to care. Nice to see Saintsfan so incredibly overjoyed though.

So, BST merit additions, and what I am aiming for.

BST got:

Feral Howl - Terrorize effect. 15 minute re-use timer, can be merited 6 times, each merit reduces timer by 2.5 mins. So maxed out, its a 5 minute ability. I have heard nothing about it whatsoever, and am thus far convinced it will be just as disappointing as Jettatura was.

Beast Affinity - Raises the level of jug pets, 2 levels per increase, 6 increases available. I am maxing this out as soon as possible. This hugely increases the variety of pets I can summon and actually use effectively.

This maxed out would increase the level of a pet by 12. Now most jug pets cap 10 levels over the equippable level. So this gives me access to some very nice damage pets.

Sabre Siravarde (Tiger) goes from 61 > 73.
Ambusher Allie (Flytrap) goes from 68 >75.
Chopsuey Chucky (Antlion) goes from 73>75
Lifedrinker Lars (Diremite) goes from 73>75.

Experimented with Chopsuey and Lifedrinker yesterday in Assault, and was very impressed. Especially with Lars. This is my preferential merit, and I will focus on it solely and ignore the other less impressive merits.

Beast Healing - Adds an extra 1-tick regen to a pet after using Reward. Pass.

Killer Instinct - This had a lot of potential for Sky. As the gods are a diverse selection of different beast classes. I initially expected a "circle" effect that shared my intimidation effects with others. But as it only adds the Killer effect of my current pet, I think I'll pass on this too.

So, for my BST - Max out Call Beast timer, and Beast Affinity. This takes my Call Beast recast down to 3.5 minutes. And increases the level of available pets for up to 12 levels. I could easily solo a selection of gilmaking BCNM's with this set-up.

So thats my priorities for BST. I got Spiral Hell, just need to get THF to 37 now. And then I'll start grabbing Hecatomb stuff as it drops.

Kirin with LS soon also, so can finally pick up my Osode.

Monday - Wednesday are BST exp/merits now.
Rest of the week is COR levelling.

Ciao~
